First winner of the Golden Tombstone Award for best costumeHere is the first winner of our Golden Tombstone Award. He did a great job on his costume. I posted some other pictures from the party in my Haloweengallery in party 05. 10:49 AM - 11/3/2005Blake in his first Halloween costumeHere is Blake with my parents. This was his first party. He did fine and spent the night at Brenda's parents house. 10:09 AM - 11/3/2005Finally got time to post!Sorry, it's been a while since I posted anything. We have both been busy enjoying our time with Blake. He is such a good baby. He was 3 weeks old on Monday, the 12th. He sleeps through the night, except for 1 feeding around 4:00 a.m. He does get a bit fussy in the afternoons. We took him back to the doctor on Friday and he had gained 10 oz. and grew 1 inch. We are just starting to get in some kind of routine. He seems to like to sleep after his morning feeding and then is awake for about 1 1/2 hrs. Then it's back to sleep. By this time I am ready to go to work. So my time for getting anything done is going to be early in the morning while he is still sleeping. I haven't worked on any Halloween things yet. I think Brenda and I are going to dress up as a ghostly couple for our annual party. Some of my friends have offered to help with the decorating and setting up for the party. I might not get as much done this year, but that's ok. Having a healthy son is a little more important. There will be other parties and I can't wait for Blake to get old enough to enjoy the Halloween season. 7:49 AM - 9/14/2005No Baby YetWell, our due date has came and went. Last Sunday was the original due date. We had an appointment today. Brenda is still at 1cm. But if she hasn't gone into labor before Sunday, she will be put in the hospital Sunday afternoon. At least Blake should make a showing late Sunday or Monday. I can't wait. We are both a little nervous, this being our first.
I have had a chance to work on a few Halloween related things. I bought a gallon of the expired latex that Vlad posted about. I used his instructions about making molds. I tried to make a small skull, a couple of small crosses and a large skull. The small skulls came out fine. I'm going to use them to fill in around a larger pile of skulls. The large skull still needs some more latex and cheese cloth. I'm going to use the latex to corpse the Bluckies I got.
Well, maybe the next time I post, I will be a new daddy. 8:57 PM - 8/18/2005Not much time for Halloween with a baby on the wayWith our baby boy due in 2 weeks, I don't have much time this year for Halloween. All my time has been spent getting his room ready. It really looks nice and I can probably use the stuff I made last year. We decided to purchase some flooring this weekend. I'm going to try to get the baby room done first. Hope I can finish before Blake shows up. At least it's the snap down kind, it goes down pretty easy. I got Brenda's bag packed, so if he shows up early, at least that's taken care of. 8:47 PM - 8/1/2005A bad weekend for us :(
Steve had worked at the same company as my wife for the last 10 yrs. They had become best friends and included him in her circle of friends that would hang out after work. They all might go fishing or to a race. They are a great bunch of people. He was also the brother of my aunt. Steve would come to our family gatherings at Christmas. He didn't make it every year, but I would still see him every couple years. At our gathering in 2001, Steve showed up and he had brought along a friend. Of course, everyone at the party thought it was his girlfriend. She was a very cute girl and even brought in her own cooler of beer! As the evening went on, I ended up talking to her. She was very intelligent and had a great personality. After talking for some time, I told her; " I'd better let you go, I don't want to make Steve mad at me." And she answered, " Why would Steve get mad at you"? I said I just assumed she was Steves date, since they came together. When I said that, she asked Steve; " Mind if I flirt with this guy"? Steve said, "I saw that coming"! By the end of the night we had exchanged numbers and things just took off from there. We got married two years later at our Halloween party! And I have Steve to thank for it. We are expecting our baby boy within the next three weeks! We are both so excited. When we started thinking about names, "Stephen" always came up. When we found out about the cancer and his chances, there was no doubt about what name should become some part of our sons name. We will name him, Blake Stephen G......... If it wasn't for Steve, I never would have met such a wonderful person. Brenda and I will always remember and think of Steve when we see our son and speak his name.
