I've been making spook houses since they told me I couldn't go Trick or Treating back in Jr. High. They started small, just a waiting room and a lab in a two and a half car garage. But each year they got bigger and bigger. By high school we’d been written up twice in the paper. As adults we took our bag of tricks and set up in barns, houses , anywhere. Then my partner died, I got married, and the team broke up. A haunted porch was all I could do but slowly it too got bigger and now the grave yard reaches the street. My kids use to help me, but they're 'too cool' now, unless they want a Halloween party. Steve and I decided long ago that we would scare the kids but not gross them out. My new ground breaker almost crossed the line but it sure was fun to make him from scratch. I think I’ll try a zombie this year.
