Mad Party Planning

Been really working hard lately at planning The Mad Tea Party.  I have most of it already planned out I juts have to DO it.    So far its turning out great.  Told almost all my friends about it and they are really excited.  My friend Christy is even going to try to be The Queen of Hearts!  Of course, not the one from the game, but a really awesome Queen of hearts!  Wanted to go over a checklist of the things I am working on or have already gotten done just need to go purchase them:

Invitations: Currently unfinished.  Got a great concept on them though, earlier this year I had made two teasers I was going to send out to everyone, but have now decided the teaser is quite possibly the best design I have ever come up with and am probably going to use the Alice teaser as the Invite:

All afternoon today I have been working on the inside for the invite which did turn out very nice:

Been struggling lately on the wording for the invites because I need them to sound very elegant and creepy, yet totally insane.  I am really hopeing to be done with them by the end of the first week of October, or my Bday, which is on the 9th.  So then I can make the long trip to my parents house to use thier photo printer to print them all out on.

Decorations: Mostly finished.  I have a very general idea of what I really want to do, but decorating for a party is best done WHEN I decorate.  I am going to be using a ton of black and red for the decor.  Lots and lots of black roses, red roses, and tons of red and black streamers.  Also planning on using a lot of skulls and gothic decorations, candles, and floating candles in vases of blood.  Been researching Gothic party decorations massively for this.  Have some great guidelines to go by.  Probably going to make this trip right before the party to buy all my supplies.  I am really staying away from anything too Halloweenie for the party, on the count I do want it to look really goth and dark, much like the Alice game.

Food:  Finished!  I have decided to use a variety of gothic and dark drinks and snacks for the party.  Alcoholic and non alike.  For the drinks I plan to use various vampyre alcoholic drinks, and tea. To distinguist the alcoholic from the non, I am going to get a set of small round corked bottles from Michaels.  They do very much look like old fashioned lab flasks and I am going to either make labels or paint the phrase "Drink Me" on them.  For the non-alcoholic I will be serving of course, Blood Tea, which is basically just regular tea with red and blue food coloring in it.  These will be placed in nice tea cups to those who do not wish to drink alcohol that night.  Food will be lots of fun, I will be serving cupcakes, muffins, and sweets.  The cupcakes will be the main focus though because they are also going to say "Eat Me" written in red and black icing on the tops of them.  Although I am not totally getting away from Halloween with this one, there will also be tons of candy, soda, and chips for everyone!

I have decided during the whole month of October I am going to work on buying all the things I need for The Mad Tea Party.  I am really not one to wait until the last minute with these things.  The only things I can really do at the last minute are the decorations and the food, which I have planned out to at "T".  I kind of figured the invites would be the hardest part on the count of I am totally making them through my magical powers of graphic design.  Unfortunately I am a perfectionist in this field so I will come up with probably ten different ideas, scrap them all over and over again until I come out with a product that is perfect.  Sometimes this is my downfall, but in this case, VERY original!
